Introduction

A template is a predefined set of configurations used to standardize and streamline the monitoring of IT assets and services. Templates help ensure consistency and efficiency by allowing you to apply the same monitoring settings (such as thresholds, metrics) across multiple targets.

Below are some key aspects of monitoring templates:

  • Target Type: Each template is designed for a specific type of target, such as databases, servers, or applications.
  • Metrics: Templates include predefined metrics that must be monitored, such as CPU usage, memory utilization, and response times.
  • Thresholds: They define thresholds for these metrics, which trigger alerts when exceeded.
  • Frequency: Templates outline how frequently metrics should be collected.

There are different types of templates to monitor your hybrid IT infrastructure.

See Recommended Templates to find the right Monitoring Templates for your resources.

  • If you wish to create a monitoring template as per your requirements, you have an option to clone a Global Template and modify it accordingly.

  • If you wish to create a monitoring template all by yourself, then you need to define metrics/events first and then create the template.

Refer to the below table to know the template creation process against each collector type.
