Introduction

Monitoring feature provides comprehensive visibility into your IT infrastructure including servers, containers, network devices, cloud storage, virtualization, synthetic transactions.

With monitoring, you can collect data and track the performance of all the resources in your IT environment.

Key features of Monitoring:

• Monitoring Templates: Create and assign templates on resources enabling consistent and accurate monitoring across your network.
• Resource Availability: Calculate the resource availability based on the collected monitoring samples.
• Timely Alerts: Receive alerts for immediate action on any detected issues, ensuring potential problems are resolved before they affect your operations.

By default, OpsRamp provides all the out-of-the-box templates within the Global Templates. The metrics required for the templates have been created.

If you want to create a custom monitoring template, you have the option to define it yourself.

Before you create a custom template, ensure you have created the required Metrics or Events. Next, add the metrics/events to the template, and assign the template to the relevant resources.
