Alert Column Settings

The Alert Browser allows you to customize which columns are displayed in the alert table, helping you focus on the information most relevant to your workflow and role.

Accessing Column Settings

  1. In the Alert Browser, click the Column Settings button (gear icon) in the toolbar
  2. The Column Settings panel will open on the right side
  3. Use checkboxes to show/hide columns
  4. Drag columns to reorder them
  5. Click Apply to save changes

Available Columns

Core Alert Information

  • Alert ID: Unique identifier for the alert
  • Alert Name: Brief description of the alert condition
  • Description: Detailed explanation of the alert
  • Severity: Alert priority level (Critical, Major, Minor, Warning, Info)
  • Status: Current alert state (Open, Acknowledged, Suppressed, Closed)
  • State: Additional state information

Resource Information

  • Resource Name: Name of the affected resource
  • Resource Type: Type of resource (Server, Application, Service, etc.)
  • Resource Group: Logical grouping of the resource
  • Device: Physical or virtual device information
  • Component: Specific component within the resource

Source and Origin

  • Source: Monitoring tool or system that generated the alert
  • Integration: Integration name that collected the alert
  • Monitor: Specific monitor or check that triggered the alert
  • Metric: Performance metric associated with the alert

Timing Information

  • Created Time: When the alert was first generated
  • Last Updated: Most recent modification timestamp
  • First Occurrence: Initial occurrence of the condition
  • Last Occurrence: Most recent occurrence
  • Duration: How long the alert has been active

Assignment and Ownership

  • Owner: User assigned to handle the alert
  • Assigned Team: Team responsible for the alert
  • Escalation Level: Current escalation stage
  • Priority: Business priority of the alert

Location and Environment

  • Location: Physical or logical location of the resource
  • Site: Site where the resource is located
  • Environment: Environment type (Production, Staging, Development)
  • Tenant: Multi-tenant environment identifier

Alert Processing

  • Policy: Alert policy that processed the alert
  • Correlation ID: Identifier for correlated alerts
  • Problem Area: Grouped problem area identifier
  • Prediction Score: AI-generated prediction confidence

Column Customization Options

Show/Hide Columns

  • Check boxes to display columns
  • Uncheck boxes to hide columns
  • Use Select All or Clear All for bulk operations

Reorder Columns

  • Drag columns in the settings panel to change order
  • Most important columns should be placed first (left side)
  • Consider screen width when ordering columns

Column Width

  • Auto-resize columns by double-clicking column borders
  • Manual resize by dragging column borders
  • Use Fit to Content to optimize all column widths

Sorting

  • Click column headers to sort data
  • Secondary sort by holding Shift and clicking additional columns
  • Sort indicator shows current sort direction
